Naming the Market
Over the years the real estate market has
changed dramatically. Currently, we are looking at a market
which is more challenging than the boom markets of years past.
One of the challenges that we face is the desire to name the
market.
We name things to give them quality and form
and the REALiTY is that we are not in a "bad" market.
We are in a market of correction and once the correction cycle
is complete, the landscape will change again. During a corrective
market, sales prices generally decline and sales slow. Once
the market stabilizes prices will remain flat but sales volume
will start to increase. After consumer confidence is restored,
prices will start to rise again. The natural cycle of the
real estate market completes and we begin again.
All of these stages are natural. They are
the way the market achieves balance.
